COMPLETE SOLUTION FOR CAMPUS, SCHOOL, ENTERPRISE SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

911Inform is a complete emergency event management solution that integrates with most of the companies in this space and the only emergency services solution provider that’s integrated into the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Points).

When an emergency strikes and 911 is dialed within a school, 911inform springs into action in just over one second.

Imagine police officers instantly gaining access to the system on their patrol cars and school administrators having it at their fingertips on their cell phones.

With a simple click, they can remotely activate and actually view school cameras and secure all doors, providing real-time information to law enforcement and ensuring a swift response.

The innovation doesn't stop there with some schools optioning facial recognition and license plate readers, bolstering security measures to safeguard school properties.

Visible weapons scanning technology adds another layer of protection, ensuring potential threats are detected and addressed promptly.

911Inform offers a comprehensive emergency response system for schools, focused on rapid and effective coordination during critical incidents. Such a system can greatly enhance the safety and security of students, staff, and the school property.

Here's an overview of the components and technologies involved:

1. Immediate 911 Integration: When someone dials 911 within a school, the system should automatically trigger an alert to local emergency services, such as the police, fire, and medical responders. Quick notification ensures that responders are informed promptly, reducing response time.

2. Access for Law Enforcement and Administrators: Police officers and school administrators can access the emergency response system through mobile apps on their patrol cars and smartphones. This allows them to stay updated in real-time and coordinate their responses effectively.

3. Remote Activation of School Cameras and Door Security: Integrating with the school's surveillance system, the emergency response system can remotely activate all available cameras. The system can also control door access systems, securing all doors to prevent unauthorized entry during an emergency. Real-time camera feeds provide valuable information to law enforcement about the situation inside the school.

4. Facial Recognition and License Plate Readers: Some schools may choose to enhance security by implementing facial recognition technology at entrances and license plate readers in parking lots. These technologies can help identify potential threats or unauthorized individuals attempting to enter the premises.

5. Visible Weapons Scanning Technology: Visible weapons scanning technology can be deployed at entry points or within school premises. It's designed to detect weapons, such as firearms or knives, and trigger alarms or notifications when a potential threat is identified. This technology adds an extra layer of security by identifying and addressing threats promptly.

6. Integration and Coordination: The effectiveness of such a system depends on seamless integration of various components, including alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control, and emergency communication systems. A central control center or dashboard allows for easy coordination and monitoring of all security measures.

7. Training and Protocols: Training programs and emergency response protocols should be established for school staff, administrators, and law enforcement to ensure everyone knows how to use the system effectively during emergencies.

8. Privacy and Legal Considerations: It's crucial to address privacy concerns and comply with relevant laws and regulations, particularly when implementing technologies like facial recognition and license plate readers.

This comprehensive approach to school security aims to minimize response times, increase situational awareness, and deter potential threats through advanced technology while respecting privacy and legal standards.

Regular drills and testing of the system can help ensure its effectiveness during actual emergencies.

FEATURES & FUNCTIONALITY

Today’s evolving enterprise environments are easily enabled with communications that can now take place from almost anywhere and on any device.

Enterprise users working from home and office will likely cross the invisible boundaries of 9-1-1 call centers without being aware.

911inform Location Discovery Solution (LDS) easily allows users to update their physical location without having to do more than tap their smartphone screen or a few clicks from your laptop.

As working from home becomes more popular, user mobility is of utmost importance. In addition, a user with a desk phone at the office may also work remotely via laptop and softphone.

The user is now active in two separate locations, where both are tethered to the same phone number and extension. Thus, the user’s location information has not updated, so a 9-1-1 call would be routed to the PSAP that covers their work location, delaying response times.

PRESS RELEASE for September 27, 2023

911inform announces new security integrations to its platform, increasing security measures for school and public safety

Security platform adds facial recognition, license plate recognition, weapons/object detection and radio to its existing 200+ technology integrations

WALL, N.J. 911inform, the only notification and security management platform, is proud to announce the integration of essential security upgrades to its platform, prioritizing public and school safety. With a focus on advancing emergency response capabilities, four new integrations have been introduced, complementing the existing suite of 200+ features.

These additions include radio communications, facial recognition, license plate recognition and weapons and object detection, all aimed at providing instant notifications and enhanced tracking within the platform:

Radio Communications: Emergency announcements are simultaneously broadcasted on personnel’s existing two-way radios and pushed through the platform to mobile phones, ensuring staff and students not currently in a school building are properly notified of an event.

Facial Recognition: Used to identify human faces in images and videos through detection, analysis and recognition. This can prevent an incident by notifying security when a specific individual enters a building. Ideal for high-conflict situations like domestic disputes or a problematic former employee.

License Plate Recognition: Using a client’s existing cameras, license plates are captured and analyzed for security and surveillance purposes. This can be used to prevent an incident by screening plates at a building or specific location.

911inform’s platform delivers immediate response to emergencies with an all-encompassing emergency toolkit including precise caller location identification, connected building controls, and a detailed notification system to save valuable time in an emergency event.

911inform’s technology is currently deployed across 50 states and in more than 5,200 buildings and schools. The platform is available to schools, universities, public organizations, and businesses in a wide range of industries including public municipalities, medical facilities, places of worship, sporting events, hotels, and restaurants.

“At 911inform, our mission is to solve security challenges, and these new integrations are game-changers for the public safety and the protection of children in schools nationwide,” said Ivo Allen, CEO of 911inform. “We are committed to continually developing our platform to safeguard those we serve and save lives. GUNSHOT DETECTION

Shooter Detection Systems empowers communities, workplaces to deploy gunshot detection to increase safety. SDS was created to assist in reducing the growing threat from indoor shooting incidents.

Schools, malls, airports, government and private buildings have all experienced increased shooting incidents over the last few years. In many of these cases, the delay in the time it took to accurately report and locate the shooter has lead to unfortunate consequences.

The SDS Indoor Gunshot Detection System simultaneously detects gunfire and relays this information via a floor plan map, text and email with shot location. System/Sensor maintenance alerts can also be programmed to go to specific individuals via text and email.

Additional modules can be configured to automate security and notification systems such as building alarms, lights/strobes, video, access control, computer-aided police dispatch (CAD), etc.

Guardian sensors can be installed into existing building infrastructure through a flush wall/ceiling or surface mount for impenetrable structures.

Guardian’s core technology was developed in conjunction with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and by a major defense contractor who has deployed over 10,000 military-grade gunshot detection systems to Iraq, Afghanistan and around the globe.

These systems have saved many American and NATO Soldier’s lives. This same capability is now available to the commercial market through SDS and the system configuration is fully scalable to the area of desired coverage.

New FCC Laws.
One of the benefits of moving your phone system to the cloud is the built-in technology to meet the requirements of Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act.

Kari's Law and the Ray Baum's Act now require additional dispatchable location reporting to 911, requiring more accurate detail, that if done incorrectly, could incur significant recurring costs. Now, NG911 solutions are available to help solve these issues in new ways, while adding additional capabilities, and reducing the recurring operating expense.

However, UCaaS solutions don’t inherently identify if someone calls 911 from their cell phone within your office or campus environment. And since 80% of all 911 calls are made from cell phones this could create a significant gap in your safety plans.

What is Geofencing? 911 Geofence is a location-based service that alerts security and staff when a mobile phone calls 911 within a virtual boundary set up around a geographical location.

This applies to ANY cellular 911 call made from within the geofence by any smartphone cellular device.

How can Geofencing help? Geofencing can immediately alert all key personnel of emergency event and provide direct line-of-communication between building faculty, police dispatch, and first responders.

Make every second count when it matters most.

Kari’s Law Requirements

1. Does your current 911 infrastructure notify relevant parties that an emergency call has been made via an organization provided PBX phone?

2. Does your current 911notification provide the location of the device that dialed 911?

3. Does your current 911 infrastructure allow for 911 calls to be places without requiring them to dial 9 first then the number?

Ray Baum’s Act

1. When you dial 911 from your business phone, do you send the building address with the call through the 911 network?

2. When you dial 911 from your business phone, do you send additional information that allows the calling party to be located in a reasonable amount of time to the PSAP and on-site individuals.

3. Does your organization contain multiple buildings or buildings with multiple floors that are listed under one address? If you answered “YES” to the question above:

3.1 Do you provide this additional location data (i.e. building, floor, zone) with the 911 calls?

3.2 Can the level of location detail you provide allow you and/or first responders the ability to find the caller in a reasonable amount of time?

4.0 Do you have a way of updating associated device locations in the 911 records when the devices are moved?

5. Do you have a mechanism for knowing when devices move throughout the network so that the associated 911 records can be updated?

6. If you have employees working from home who are using a softphone on a laptop or a hardware IP or SIP phone, are you currently provisioning their location data to the 911 database?

7. If you have employees that travel frequently and using a softphone on a laptop or a hardware IP or SIP phone, are you currently provisioning their location data to the 911 database?

911 and Mobile Devices

Getting accurate location information can be an issue.

Cellular 911 Call Notification & 911inform

• Each year, over 240 million calls are placed with 911 dispatchers across the country.

• Nearly 80 percent of those calls are made from a cell phone.

• With the 911inform cellular notification solution, an enterprise will be alerted when a 911 call is dialed from a smartphone device (Android Version 4.0+ or iOS Version 12+) if located within defined property boundaries.

• As a 911inform customer, we establish a geofence of the property and submit it to the RapidSOS database.

• Supported smartphone devices within a geofence will notify the PSAP/ECC that an emergency call has occurred within property limits.

• Alerts sent to the enterprise do not contain the phone number or other personal information about the caller maintaining complete anonymity and privacy.

• The notifications are generated by the carrier network and the PSAP/ECC allowing any device to call 911 within a geofence without having a prior relationship.

• Each notification provides the enterprise with information of when a call was placed and where with an overhead view of the property.

Uber find me but 911 can't!

This CNBC YouTube explains the major problems with today's 911 technology and how RapidSOS save lives!

With more than 80% of 911 calls originating from a mobile device, the 911 call center's Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) have a hard time locating 911 callers on their mobile phones.

RapidSOS is an emergency response data platform that securely links data to 9-1-1 and first responders with more than 350 million devices connected to 5,000+ local public safety agencies.

This covers over 94% of the U.S. and is accessible to over 300 million people.

RapidSOS
built the emergency response data platform to help first responders get the data they need to save more lives.

RapidSOS works with some of the world’s largest organizations to help them protect their customers, members, and employees by linking real-time data from their smart devices securely to first responders. A number of companies including Apple, Motorola and several start-ups are trying to fill the technology gap.

RapidSOS is a data integration platform that has been adopted free of charge in about 4,800 PSAPs. According to the company, this means they cover about 92% of the country and assists in 150 million emergencies per year.

“We’re just scratching the surface of the amount of data that we could be using,” said Michael Martin, CEO of RapidSOS.

“We’re passing precise location for most 911 calls now. But you can imagine all the capabilities, like in a fire if your building could talk or if your device could detect a heart attack and immediately transmit that through.” He says carriers also have a responsibility, especially when it comes to addressing the altitude problem.

But in the end, he says, the federal government is needed. In 2022 a $1.5 trillion infrastructure bill that included $12 billion toward 911 passed the House but stalled in the Senate.

RapidSOS Saves Lives!

is an intelligent safety platform that securely links location data to the 9-1-1 PSAP and first responders as well as 911Inform, InformaCast, and most of the companies in the workplace safety space.

RapidSOS FAQ

Uber uses RapidSOS so riders Text 911 directly

In March 2020, Uber announced a new safety feature to help protect both riders and drivers that will send a real-time rapid SOS and dispatch officers.

This allows riders and drivers a new way to text 911 seamlessly with information about the ride, including its current location, even if the driver has strayed from the route.

Geo-Fence Alerts – How They Work

To improve cellular location accuracy for emergency calls, Google and Apple developed new functionality that could deliver Handset Based Location information to Public Safety Answering Points, providing a large improvement of accuracy in a shorter timeframe.

The information is delivered through the RapidSOS Additional Data Repository, a NG9-1-1 compliant network component. Voice and location data is delivered to the PSAP, while discrete location data is delivered to the Enterprise Security Team allowing event response coordination.

A Geo-Fence of the property allows the enterprise to be alerted to 9-1-1 calls placed from Smartphones within the perimeter.

No registration or software is needed on any of the Smartphones.

Informacast Mobile Panic Button

When organizations look at mass notification solutions, they often focus on the word “mass.” They want a tool that allows them to reach as many people as possible with critical information.

With a wide range of device integrations, including desk phones, speakers, digital signage, desktop computers, and mobile phones, organizations can deliver messages to everyone.

This helps keep people safe, minimizes operational disruptions, and builds confidence that no matter what kind of event occurs, there are tools and procedures in place to handle it.

While these features help keep everyone informed, many organizations are looking for ways to provide more personalized protection solutions for their staff.

Whether it’s someone walking back to their car at night in an isolated parking lot or someone working in a remote area of a facility, organizations have a duty of care they need to fulfill to send assistance to those in need of help.

One of the biggest challenges to accomplishing this goal though is knowing who is asking for help and where there are. Panic buttons available via mobile apps can offer individuals an immediate way to request assistance.

In the video, you’ll see a real-life example of how mobile panic buttons available through the InformaCast app can help a person in need when they encounter a dangerous situation.

How Healthcare Can Benefit from Mass Notification

In healthcare, providing a safe environment ensures smooth operations and excellent patient care.

That goal can only be achieved with strong communication, but without the right tools in place, healthcare organizations can waste precious time trying to information into the hands of the people who need it.

While implementing a mass notification system may seem like a challenge, both in terms of time and resources, healthcare organizations that deploy it for use across all their departments will get more value out of their investment.

Whether it’s doctors and nurses trying to help patients, security trying to protect visitors and staff, or facilities and IT teams making sure everything within a building continues to run as it should, they should all be able to leverage a mass notification tool to carry out their duties.
